Women's Corrections
Bringing the AA message of hope and recovery to women in correctional facilities.
Our Purpose
The Women's Corrections Committee coordinates AA meetings and support for women in jails, prisons, and correctional facilities throughout District 5. We provide a safe, supportive space for women to begin or continue their recovery journey.
What We Do
- Facilitate regular AA meetings in women's correctional facilities
- Provide AA literature and resources to incarcerated women
- Coordinate volunteer speakers and meeting leaders
- Support pre-release programs and reentry efforts
- Connect women leaving facilities with local women's AA groups
- Provide gender-specific support and resources
Volunteer Opportunities
We welcome women in recovery who want to carry the message behind the walls. Volunteers must:
- Have at least one year of continuous sobriety
- Complete facility-specific training and clearance requirements
- Commit to regular meeting attendance
- Follow all facility rules and AA traditions
Get Involved: Contact the committee chair for information about volunteer orientation and upcoming facility meetings.
